This course is Part II of Reading Contemporary English Plays. It continues to look into works written and performed in the world of Western theater today, especially on English-speaking stages. We shall trace the more recent plays of some of the playwrights dealt with in Part I, and expand and include plays by other dramatists. Students would need to do classroom reports on specific plays and playwrights and be prepared to give play readings. There would also be a midterm, and a final. Interested students need not have taken Part I of this course.
